Make an impression with an authentic Italian olive wood slab. This slab makes for a gorgeous setting to serve small bites or for use as a bread board. Carved from a single cross section of a retired olive tree, this slab is a work of art and history, as olive trees are only harvested toward the end of their life and can live up to 750 years. The slab showcases the inner olive heart wood, displaying a dazzling grain pattern punctuated with a flowing array of colors. Some boards may feature a live edge. This is a truly one-of-a-kind serving board.
As each board is cut from a cross-section, each slab will be unique size and shape, though all boards are reasonably close to the dimensions listed. Please note that the board you receive may not look like the board pictured as each board is unique and individual.
Please be aware that checking (small cracks along the edges or grain) is normal and to be expected, as slabs are not cutting boards in the traditional sense. Proper care must be taken for a slab and we recommend periodic maintenance. We recommend avoiding water when possible on a slab to prevent warping and cupping.
